Librium is available in dosing strengths of 5, 10 and 25 mg as a capsule preparation which is to be taken with water. For the effective management of mild to moderate anxiety, the most used dose of Librium is 5 or 10 mg dose taken each day for three to four times. The dose for severe anxiety is 20 or 25 mg taken each day for three to four times. In case of alcohol withdrawal, an enhanced dose of 50 to 100 mg is taken in divided doses for as long as the problem exists. Do not take this dosing as a substitute for doctor’s prescription.
